Hey Jacki! I didn’t know charities in Canada gave tax receipts. Do you have a list I could plagerize?
Thanks much. Great site.

Hey Moreen,
Canadian charities that have a government issued “charitable organization number” issued by the government offer tax receipts. Some charities won’t issue receipts unless the donation is over a certain amount (usually $10 or $20). It is always a wise idea to ask the charity if they will give tax receipts. Some types of donations do not qualify for a tax receipt such as purchasing goods (eg. chocolate bars) or services (silent auctions).
Bottom line, always check with the charity to see if they give a tax receipt and make sure the charitable organization number is on the receipt.
